Abusive police scramble in NPA-Mindoro clash
A unit under the NPA-Mindoro successfully ambushed elements of the 403rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RFMB) along the national highway in Sitio Mabajo, Brgy. Sta. Teresita, Mansalay, Mindoro last September 28 at around 11:30 in the morning. The ambush was in response to the gross human rights violations the AFP has committed against the Mangyan people in the island.
Initial reports stated that two police personnel were wounded as others scrambled for cover.
On the same day, Red fighters attacked the detachment of the 403rd RMFB in Brgy. Cabalwa, Mansalay. Red fighters also launched sniping operations last September 16 and September 22 against occupying forces of the 203rd IBde in Sitio Mantay, Brgy. Monteclaro, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. Throughout the pandemic, PNP-MIMAROPA and 203rd IBde continue to conduct focused military operations in the island of Mindoro. Soldier ravaged Mangyan communities, sowing fear and upsetting their way of life. These military operations resulted in killings, forced surrenders, torture, hamletting, forced evacuation, threat and harassment of women and children and illegal arrests.
