Army black prop coverup its servility to hacienderos and big business
The New People’s Army in Negros Island Apolinario Gatmaitan Command (AGC-NPA) called the “barkers” of the military “fools who think people still believe what they say.”
Ka Juanito Magbanua, AGC-NPA spokesperson, referred to allegations from 79th Infantry Battalion (79th IB) commanding officer Lt. Col. J-Jay Javines and 3rd Infantry Division spokesperson Major Cenon Pancito that recent revolutionary martyrs Ka Ella and Ka Pabling were “extortionists” and “notorious terrorists.”
“These are recurring black propaganda to smear the good image of the NPA and revolutionary movement and coverup the servility of the Philippine Army to hacienderos and big business particularly in Silay City,” Magbanua said.
He recalled how the people praised the Roselyn Jean Pelle Command of the NPA North Negros Front (RJPC-NPA) for its punitive action against the destructive quarry operation of Silay City Mayor Mark Andrew J. Golez last April 12 wherein three backhoes were burned at the quarry site in Hacienda Vista Alegre, Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City.
According to him, it was a response to the people’s demands to punish abusive large-scale quarrying operations along Malogo river that caused a series of flash floods in northern Negros starting New Year’s Eve that affected more than 70,000 families.
He reiterated that the People’s Democratic Government is not interested in collecting revolutionary tax from big businesses that operate within its territory causing massive destruction to the environment such as soil erosion, flash floods during rainy season and poison from chemicals used in its operations.
“These are harmful to the people,” he added, “they should be punished for destroying natural resources that could be used for genuine national industrialization and land reform that are the foundations of national development.”
Magbanua pointed out that the “extortionists” are those in government and the mercenary Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police (AFP/PNP) who collected millions of protection money from big businessmen in exchange for people’s lives and the environment.
He stated further that the “notorious terrorists” are the AFP/PNP and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) that implement the “counter-insurgency” campaign which resulted to a long list of human rights violations.
“Ka Ella was a victim of the 79th IB’s violation of International Humanitarian Law when they killed her despite her inability to fight,” he said.
That the People’s Democratic Government has persisted for more than five decades under the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines proves the support of the broad masses and they happily benefit from the its services, he ended.###
