Comparison of US Imperialism and Taliban
US imperialism has been the biggest terrorist force in the world since the end of World War II. It created in Afghanistan in July 1978 the mujahedin from which the Taliban emerged in the 1990s and took over the Afghan government in 1996 in collaboration with Al Qaida which is a CIA creation.
In December 2001 the Taliban government was overthrown by the US war of aggression despite the Taliban’s willingness to surrender Osama bin Laden of Al Qaida for trial in a third country. Because of the US war of aggression, which is the worst form of terrorism according to the Nuremberg principle in the trial of Nazi criminals, the Taliban assumed the character of patriotic resistance against the US and NATO aggressors and the puppet Afghan government from 2001 to 2021.
Only a fool can minimise or even prettify the super-terrorism of US imperialism by magnifying the Taliban as a far bigger terrorist force. Marx himself considered the reactionary Emir of Afghanistan as a revolutionary in relation to the British aggression against Afghanistan in the 19th century. And also only a fool can predict that the Taliban will commit far bigger acts of terrorism than the super-terrorist US imperialism. The Taliban is known for fighting well inside Afghanistan but not outside.
As regards to how much terrorism in the name of Islamic fundamentalism can a new Taliban government or a Taliban-led coalition government can do in the world remains to be seen as it is faced with huge economic and financial problems and tries to look after its own political and economic interests in relation to such neighboring countries as Pakistan, Iran, those in Central Asia, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, the US and NATO.
